STEPPI
STEPPI is a set of modular objects that release you from sitting at the desks. facilitates work in groups and enables quick classroom rearrangement. The highest module is a standing top, the lower one corresponds to the height of a desk, the next one replaces a chair and the last one is a step. Two people can use a single module at the same time. The free space under the table top allows you to store the backpack. The project was created in two color variants with younger and older recipients in mind. Objects are a part of a collection. The project was created as part of the 21st edition of the Education and Design Program, the slogan of which is "Free your/your school". The main goal was to create an alternative classroom space for the 21st century.
The process begins in October 2021, 9 UAP students are taking part in it:
Sensitizing workshops to the needs of people with disabilities, a visit to a primary school near Wrocław
and training in the production of chipboard furniture.
Phase of sketches, discussions, training meetings with partners (Egger, Schattdecor), division into two-person groups.
Clarification of the first proposals.
Jury deliberations of partners and UAP professors, selection of projects with a chance for further development in the winter semester: three groups of two people.
The first prototypes, simultaniously working on the construction in accordance with the partner's guidelines (Deftrans) and the shape of the final forms.
Testing the functionality of objects in the classroom, selecting colors in accordance with the guidelines.
Designs and production of accessories in the form of folding pillows at Ridex.
